Belonging

image

Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? I’m just wondering if other people feel the same way. I mean, this is a “normal” feeling I have & I say “normal” because it has always been this way with me. Lately though, it has gotten worse. I mean, I’m not friendless. In fact I have lots of friends, artistic friends, thug friends, stoner-hippi friends, smart friends, not-so-smart friends… I’m not friendless, I just have no sense of belonging. I mean when I was a teen it didn’t concern me because I thought it was a faze that teenagers went threw. Now it kind of bothers me. I wasn’t friendless as a teen either. Half the friends I had as a teen,I am still friends with. Maybe I’m just paranoid. Even growing up I wasn’t in a group. I mean I had BFF’s, I just wasn’t labeled as prep, cheerleader, emo…. which I can honestly say I’m happy about. Somebody once said to me ” Your personality is too big to be labeled, that’s why you’re not” & I honestly think that was probably one of the nicest things ever said to me. I was not offended. I was just wondering if other people have a sense of not belonging. I just feel like I should have atleast accomplished something by now. Something great. I wanna be with people that are awkward like myself, and yet they don’t care about my awkwardness or their own. I mean I wanna fit where I belong. Not just fit in for the sake of belonging, if that makes any sense. Anyways peaceful dreams, I’m outtie.
